It is the proud tradition of the STScI and JHU astronomy groups to host a joint "astro-jamboree" every few years. The Jamboree is an exciting, action-packed event, where every astronomer in our two departments has an opportunity to share his/her research interests with over a hundred other astronomers, all of whom are right here in our own backyard. This year's Jamboree was especially timely since we have a large flood of new graduate students, postdocs, and science staff members in our community. The goal of this event is to foster communication between astronomers in our buildings and enhance cross-collaborations that lead to new innovative research.

The 2009 Jamboree took place on Friday, April 10th and consisted of (strict) 2 minute presentations from all interested astronomers, including graduate students, postdocs, science staff, and faculty. The types of presentations were varied, including simple PowerPoint presentations with a few slides, discussions with no slides, etc.

There were four sessions at this year's Jamboree; two morning sessions in the STScI Auditorium and two afternoon sessions in the Bloomberg Auditorium. Between both the two morning sessions and two afternoon sessions, there were short breaks allowing participants to chat with one another and mingle.
